COMPANY reviews from around the web:
It was quite odd that when I reached out to this transportation company for a quote, an elderly gentleman offered me a competitive rate. However, he quickly expressed his doubts about their suitability and refused to assist me solely because I inquired about the possibility of having the vehicle collected by Friday. This behavior was both peculiar and unsatisfactory in terms of customer service.
The vehicle’s seller, not Thrifty, informed us of an issue regarding its pick-up. Subsequently, we reached out to Thrifty to cancel the shipment and deal with the issue at hand. However, Dwight’s behavior was unprofessional, wherein he not only downed other companies but was also discourteous before abruptly hanging up. While safety is crucial, professionalism is just as vital, and this behavior left us severely disappointed. We were forced to begin the shipping process anew with a different carrier.
I have shipped numerous vehicles in the past, but my experience with Thrifty was by far the worst. They had absolutely no communication whatsoever. I was left in the dark for weeks without any updates or contact regarding the status of my vehicle. My attempts to reach out to them via email were ignored, and promises to return my phone calls with updates were broken. It’s frustrating and disappointing.
Your response would hold more weight if you had actually informed me of any potential delays last week. Unfortunately, you did not notify me whatsoever until I called on Friday. Despite being told twice that I would receive an update, I heard nothing. As of this weekend, weather was not even an issue.
HORRIBLE, my vehicle shipping experience with Thrifty was a complete nightmare. Despite hiring their services, Thrifty subcontracted the transport to Carolina Logistics, who damaged my vehicle during the 6-month shipping process. After 17 emails and 12 phone calls, a senior dispatcher at Thrifty outright threatened to hang up on me if I continued to express my dissatisfaction. To make matters worse, I was informed that pursuing a claim with Carolina Logistics was my responsibility, despite the fact that I had contracted Thrifty and paid them directly. The damage sustained totaled $2300, and to add insult to injury, my vehicle was looted during transport. I was deeply disappointed in the complete lack of responsibility assumed by Thrifty and their apparent disregard for their customers. I would strongly advise anyone seeking vehicle transport services to consider more reputable carriers.
I am disappointed with the service I received from Gladys B., the customer service agent at Thrifty Auto Shipping. Despite assuring me that she would send me the shipping document to sign after I booked my car shipment with her, she failed to follow through. After multiple attempts to contact her via email and phone, she never bothered to respond. My decision to choose Thrifty Auto Shipping was based on positive reviews and their BBB accreditation and local status, but their lack of communication has made me question their reliability. I cannot do business with a company that displays such unprofessional and unresponsive behavior.
It was an extremely unpleasant encounter. Despite their initial promise of 1-3 days for shipping my car, I waited for two weeks and they still couldn’t find a driver. Even after reaching out to them, they never got back to me. Although the customer service representatives were polite on the phone, the whole experience was not worth it.
Caution! This company lacks integrity. Their claim to be a family-owned business run by military veterans is a complete hoax. They advertised my car like any other broker but offered a meagre price and pick-up date, which they failed to fulfill. Despite contacting them twice, four days after the scheduled pickup, all I received was a “we’re working on it” response. When I reached out to another shipping company and mentioned that I was dealing with a supposed family-run business, who failed to show up, the representative immediately identified them as “Thrifty.” After investigating, I discovered they have an unsavory reputation, and I am relieved I terminated my contract with them before they increased the price and caused further damage.
Subsequently, when I posted my review, they replied, stating that they had no knowledge of me, which was odd, considering I had been working with Robbie A. After providing my information, they didn’t respond again. The company must face the repercussions of blatantly deceiving customers by falsely claiming to have their trucks, being a family venture, and most grievously, supporting the military.
I decided to contact another reliable shipping company, and while their quote was slightly higher than Thrifty’s, my car was shipped the following day. I subsequently learned that Thrifty had severely underestimated the cost, and their advertisement remained on the platform for all shippers to see, but no one accepted it as it was too low. Although I could elaborate further, I think my message is clear. As I remarked before, be careful!
