SMN Logistics reviews from around the web:
Some examples of Moving Fraud
BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE of this company. Poorly forged a fake bank receipt as proof of payment.
SMN Logistics is a fraudulent auto transport broker and you absolutely should not book with them. They initially quoted me a price of only $725, broken down as a $175 broker fee for them and $550 to the actual driver. The scam began when they falsely informed me my car was picked up Friday morning. Then, by Saturday afternoon, they abruptly announced that the driver’s portion had skyrocketed from $550 to an outrageous $1,200. When I immediately demanded to cancel the booking, they refused, claiming that too much time had passed to stop the transport. The final insult was at delivery: the carrier’s job was only $1,000, but SMN still extracted an additional $200 fee from that inflated $1,200 price they had quoted. This company practices a dishonest bait-and-switch scheme, and I will be filing a formal complaint against this scamming trucking broker with the federal Department of Transportation (DOT).
I contracted SMN Logistics/Brokerage LLC to transport my 1995 Jeep Wrangler from my aunt’s estate to my home. They quoted and confirmed in writing a total price of $199.00. They required a $75.00 deposit to secure the pickup date of September 15th, with the remaining $124.00 due as Cash On Delivery (COD), which I confirmed with their contact, Zoe. However, my investigation revealed their fraudulent practices: I was contacted by an external company who informed me that SMN Logistics was actually soliciting my order to drivers at a rate of $650.00, which is not the $199.00 I was quoted.
When I confronted SMN Logistics about this massive price discrepancy, they sent me a misleading screenshot, likely altered for the picture, to falsely show the $124.00 COD balance. They insisted no additional money beyond the $199.00 total would be required, yet immediately began a bullying text campaign to force me to increase my budget. They repeatedly asked for escalating amounts—first $550, then $450, then $400—all of which I rejected, holding firm to the quoted $124.00 COD.
Finally, due to their dishonesty and aggressive tactics, I requested a refund of my $75.00 deposit and a cancellation of the pickup. SMN Logistics then attempted to apply further pressure by claiming I owed them a $200.00 cancellation fee because I was canceling on the scheduled day. After I threatened legal action, they finally agreed to process my $75.00 refund, stating it would take four days to receive the money. This company is nothing more than a scam artist operation that refused to honor the contracted amount. I strongly urge everyone to look elsewhere.
SMN Logistics completely failed to ship my side-by-side vehicle as scheduled. Now, it has been over three weeks since they promised to process my refund, and as of today, September 9, 2025, I still have not received any funds. I strongly advise all potential customers to look elsewhere for transport services. Update: I spoke directly with “Brad Shaw” on September 9, 2025, at 5:00 PM regarding the missing money. As of September 15, 2025, despite that direct conversation, the refund has still not been issued, and the company has ceased contact.
SMN Logistics is an absolute joke of a scam company, with the broker “Zoe” being a key contact in this dishonesty. I made a reservation on July 3rd to ship my vehicle from California to Texas. Despite seeing their bad reviews, I mistakenly trusted them because they allowed me to add specific terms meant to ensure the shipping would proceed without problems. I was wrong; this company is no different from the worst brokers in the market. They will assure you that everything is fine and the driver is on the way, but at the last minute, they will invent a bizarre excuse and cancel the job, often claiming they “forgot” they were under a contract. That is not how a legitimate business operates. I sincerely hope no one else chooses them, and if they try to convince you otherwise, please read this warning carefully. SMN Logistics is absolutely not recommended.
Beware of this company. SMN Logistics is a fraudulent broker known for a deceptive bait-and-switch tactic. They initially promise one appealing rate, only to attempt to inflate the price to double the original quote on the scheduled day of pickup. Once the scam is initiated, they become unreachable; they fail to answer the phone and rely only on empty promises. This complete lack of professionalism and their fraudulent pricing model confirm that they are not a trustworthy company for auto transport.
I recently fell victim to an attempted scam while trying to book vehicle transport from Missouri to the East Coast. I’m sharing this experience so others can avoid the same mistake.
My process began by choosing the first company that appeared legitimate in a Google search: smnlogistics (it is not a legitimate operation).
I was immediately contacted by “Brad Shaw” via email to coordinate the pickup. To reserve the spot, he instructed me to Zelle the payment directly to the driver.
After making the Zelle payment and sending him the required screenshot, “Brad Shaw” immediately messaged me with an urgent request: “Sir can you please cancel that payment right away driver just text me that Zelle is not working.” Unfortunately for the me, Zelle payments are generally irreversible once sent.
When I called the provided number, I’m quite certain the person on the other end was not a “Brad Shaw.” He tried to convince me that everything was fine and that I should still plan to use SMN for the transport, saying I could just pay the driver at pick-up and he would “figure out the details” for the initial payment. This was a clear attempt to keep me from realizing the money was gone and to stop me from taking action.
Although I couldn’t cancel the Zelle payment, I have taken immediate steps to report the fraud:
I disputed the charge with my bank.
I filed a scam/fraud complaint with Zelle.
I reported the company to the Department of Transportation (DOT).
I filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Bureau.
Please be extremely cautious when booking vehicle transport online and never use Zelle or other instant, non-reversible payment methods with unfamiliar parties.
Would you like me to look up reputable, licensed auto transport brokers and carriers so you can see examples of trustworthy companies?
