Would give a zero star review if I could. Company gave a lowball rate of $150 to transport a vehicle purchased from an out of town dealer a little over 200 miles. Was asked to place a $60 deposit. When I balked and expressed hesitation to so so without a firm commitment on price and timing, the rep guaranteed a refund if they couldn’t meet my expectations.
For 72 hours, they got nowhere. Didn’t get a sniff for the price they offered. Made multiple excuses. Kept insisting that it wasn’t a low ball, bait and switch game… Kept promising they would deliver on their promise, asking for my trust and more time. After 48 hours – the rep admitted fault, yet requested to continue to try to fulfill the promise. After 72 hours, I locked in other arrangements through the dealer….same day pick up and next day delivery for $275. It took the dealer less than 30 minutes to track down a carrier at a fair and far more realistic price. So, what was Byroad’s idea of a refund? Despite a second admission of blame, they expected me to cover their financial responsibility by forfeiting all but $10 of my deposit. Awful company! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!

Some examples of Moving Fraud
deliberately low-balling an estimate to later ask for more money (bait & switch)
withholding customer belongings unless they pay significantly more than the quoted price
